hello,
i recently bought a david bradley 9" hammer mill from an estate. there isnt much left of the decals. i was wondering how fast it should turn. also it has a fairly fine screen, is there someplace that makes new ones? i would like to make a coarse corn meal with it. i have never seen one of these work- are there any adjustments i should know about? thanks for any information.
nate

Disclaimer; This is from memory! Sears was nice enough to supply me with archived catalog info. on the David Bradley. Speed 2200-3000. I think the higher end works better. With dimensions from your existing screen you should be able to get one made. I think I looked through the ads in the back of a milling industry magazine and found a place (maybe in St. Louis?) to make me a screen. 3/8" would probably be a good place to start.
