I would like to know if anyone has ever had any experience with a (Landsing)Disks the one I am looking at is a 3 point hitch type and has 20 notched blades and is 8 foot wide it is bran new and he wants $ 700.00.
I would be using it to plow up my field in Wayne County PA. to plant corn and deer food plots. My tractor has 37 HP. I would like to know what you all think. I am new to this.
Thank You, JOHN

Remember this is just my two cents!

if it has roller bearings you may pull it ok, your problem with a disk that heavy, maybe when you go to pick it up, the front of the tractor comes off the ground or dances around so its hard to steer.

I bought a 7ft tufline disc once for my 35 Ferguson. It was a top line small disc with roller bearings, I could pull it great, until I got to the end of the field then the little tractor would head for the sky as it tried to pick it up.

I sold it and got a lighter disc, but man it was the best disc I ever own and build like a tank.

A guy with a Ford narrow front end 960 bought it, his tractor carried it fine as the tractor was longer with more weight out front.

Good luck, but try it out before you buy it.

With only 20 blades and 8' wide that says it is a heavy duty ground breaking type instead of a finnishing type of disk, That wide of finnishing disc should have 24 blades.

Is it a tandem or single disc? (disk is a computer disk, disc is a farm implement) 8 ft single would be easy for a 37 HP tractor. Even tandem should be OK if you don"t try to go as deep as "China". Is the 37 HP at the engine or drawbar? Makes a difference where the rating is taken. I pull a 10 ft tandem disc with 27 drawbar HP.

Thank you for the response on my questions. to answer your questions I will be pulling the disks with a John Deere 3520 model tractor. I believe the disks are tandem. I don't know where the HP rating is for. I am only looking to go down about 4-6 inches. I hope this will work for me.

That's a tough one to sort out! My dictionary lists - disk or disc, noun and disk or disc, verb. When it describes the implement it says "usually disc" so we can use either spelling with disc preferred for the farm implement. But we all know what everyone means, I was being overly cautious, sorry.
