STUCK BALER PLUNGER!!!!

I have a massey model 12 square baler that is in excellent condition. It has never set outside or even been rained on.The problem is that it sat in a barn for around ten years and the plunger is stuck. I have been soaking it in PB Blaster and diesel fuel for a while. I drove it all the way forward and back again but its still stuck too tight to run. Any suggestions???

I had the same problem in my MF-3, except it sat OUT for over 40 years. There are shims to adjust the runners the plunger runs on, and they rust and expand. Loosen the lock nuts and back off all the plunger slide adjusters. They are along the top and the bottom on the outside of the baler (not the pickup side.) Back off all the smaller nuts that hold the runners in place (9/16 wrench)these are on the actual top and bottom. Try turning the flywheel by hand. If it doesn't break the plunger loose, take the plunger arm off the crank. Crawl up in the chute and run some chain through the plunger holes. Put a 6X6 across the back of the chute. Use a come-along to pull the plunger out. Remove all the slides and shims, clean everything up, grease it all, and put it back together. Adjust the plunger so the knives are about .030 as I remember it.

on ih balers you can undo the drive rod and pull the plunger all the way out. i would try to do this and see whats holding you back. it may just be rust that needs scraping off and repainting. are you turning it over by hand? i wouldn't hook it to a tractor until its free and you determine the cause for the sticking. on ik balers the plungers ride on rollers or metal slides. you could have a roller thats bad and the bearing are locking it up.
