This is a bigger/better version of what is usually seen in my area, but can anyone tell what it is and how it works?

Have fun,

Dave

It kills me everytime I see them. Don't know what it's like by you, but you won't see a German in one here unless he's driving it. Come to think of it, you don't see many Germans working fields period, unless they own them.
Take Care,

Dave

It is a vegetable picker. People lay on a platform across the machine and pick product which they throw on a conveyor that takes it to a central holding tank. We have a couple in my area for picking fresh cucumbers.

Exactly! Where are you located? I'm in Germany and thought they were a sprayer or something until I saw people crawling out of one once. Figured human rights groups would flip out . I've never seen one like in the picture, just the older ones that were all manpower except the tractor.

I live in the Thumb of Michigan 35 miles east of Saginaw. They grow alot of cucumbers here both for fresh consumption and pickling. Riding one of those machines is better then bending over all day.

Having spent part of my youth in a cucumber patch with my backside pointed up and my head down, I would have appreciated a ride on a fancy picker thingy like that. What a simple easy concept, complete with shade!!!
