Removing a loader

I have the opportunity to buy a Farmall 300. It has a loader attached to it. I"m wondering how hard it is to remove these loaders? I don"t necessarily want a loader on the front, but I"m getting a good price on the tractor with it. It would be nice to have, but not on all the time. Not sure if it"s a major ordeal or not to get it off.

You might be surprised how much handling improves by just removing the bucket. Next step is build an overhead frame to hang the loader from, pull four pins, tie the cylinders to the sideframes...hardly notice it is there. If the hoses have quick-disconnects, pull the lower cylinder pins and leave the cylinders on the loader frame. Still only four pins. Come-a-long or winch makes it an easy job.

Thanks everyone....sounds like it won't be that big of a deal, so it shouldn't be a deal breaker if it comes with the loader.

I checked the picture of the Model C. That is a Paulson brand loader. Gazillions around here. Werner AC in Elk River sold many- common brand with many dealers in central MN. I reversed a WD back in the 70s, put the Paulson on the back side. Before that, I made a frame out of old 3 inch pipe to hang it from. Want something taller than the muffler, chain on each side to hold the frame, hook a come-a-long up to raise, lower, to get the pins out. Once you"re set up like that, you can dump or mount it in a few minutes. email is open- Jim

Looks easy to get off, manual dump and 1 way lift
cylinders and it looks like a quik coupler on top.
Put it under a tree lift it a little with a come-
a-long on the back where the pins are, pull the pins
where it mounts to the loader frame, pull the pins on the cylinders disconnect the hydraulic line raise it a little and back away.

Here is a picture of what it looks like. THis is on a C, and the one I have is on a 300. Not sure if there would be a difference or not. I can scan these pictures and put them on here, but this is pretty much what it looks like.

My self I would leave it on. Funny how a loader is very handy for every day life. Wish I had a couple more loader tractors at times so I could give the one that has a big heavy load a brake some times. That said build an A frame so you can hang the loader to remove it and also helps to put it back on. Or you can also pull the pins for the lift part and leave the main frame on and that helps speed putting it back on

You should have it off of there in less than an hour.

All depends on what kind of loader it is; some are really easy, some just an old fashioned stinker.
