Hi we just bought a jd 24 row 1770 and got the liquid boot on it for fertilizer and there is no option for dry boot for the new style opners. Has anyone got any ideas or seen this before? Want to pull a air cart behind corn planter mand not to sure about making my own boots.

Thanks

Are you talking about the seed openers or the fertilizer openers?

If the seed openers, thats a bad idea.

Dry fertilizer in the seed furrow can cause damage to the plant. The only time you can put liquid fert. in the furrow is when you use low salt fert.

If your talking about the fert openers, then I don't know what you are looking for.

Ok maybe I have no explained myself properly. We used to tug a fertilizer cart behind our 16 row corn planter. We blow most of our fertilizer andc micros down with the corn of to the side. We use about 30 gal acre of 32% which we work in with a cultivator.

What my problem is that the new 24 row ccs has fertilizer opneners that are different due to some folding problem of the corn planter. John Deere apparently only offers liquid boots because you American farmers only use liquid. Had we knwon this ahead of time we would have thought different. So now I am looking for a boot to fit the fertilizer opener on the new ccs. Apparetnyl nowone has made one. Including Deere.

My other problem is anyone know of a 3 way manifold? 1 inlet at 2.5 into 3 outlets at 1.25?

There are some short line companies that might have just what you need.

Here are some names to research.

Yetter, Dawn and Vitatoe. And there may be others.

Yeah I have access to all the yetter stuff. Problem is the old boy dont want to put that knife on cuz he says it creates hairpinnning. And the fact the coulter is on like a 4 or 5 degree angle and would have to make brackets. I dont know. Im almost tempted to come out with my own setup for these rigs. Someone else must nbot be happy.

Thanks
