Howdy all on this glorious Easter Weekend!I was working on my grain drill and managed to get the fluted feed to slide back and forth as well as get the feeds to turn freely. This drill has not been used for 20 years. Here is the problem. About 3 months ago, i decided to drop it down and see what happens. Well...What happed was I managed to put a twist into the seed shaft, grind 75% of the teeth off of the drive gear that goes between the main drive on the shaft and the gear on the seed shaft, and i lost 3 teeth on the gear on the seed shaft. So..after I got everything turning today, I was looking it over to see how to disassemble it...and it looks IMPOSIBLE! The gear that lost most of its teeth comes out easily by removing a nut and poping a cap off and then it came out. The big problem is there is no way to get the gear on the seed shaft out because there is a collar that is made on the outside of the gear that goes through the main casting on the end of the drill. Since it is only missing 3 teeth, could a guy just weld some spots on it and then grind them down into workable teeth? Has anyone else taken this gear out? Does anyone have these gears they want to sell? HELP! Chuck
