I have just purchased an old baler that seems to be in pretty good shape; but I'm sure it will need bearings, bushings, and the like.

Anyone have any suggestions on finding a parts listing, or suppliers?

Thanks

Punch in "Baler" at CaseIH parts and scroll to 47, all diagrams are there.

You can still get most of the parts from your IH dealer too. Some of the parts are listed for later year models and noted to fit this model, so you have to poke around some and ask questions. Probably most parts department people won't know that about it. The down side is that the parts new are pretty darn expensive, went through that last year on a 46 baler. Spent more than twice what the baler cost me.

Go to the Case IH web site and then go into the parts seach and do a search on "47". Sort through what it brings up and you should find the 47 listed.

Let me know if you need some help doing that.

Thanks Larry & Arlenin,

Appreciate the info. Still haven't found anything just yet; but will stop by a dealership and see if they can help.

I tried searching CIH for 47, "47", Model 47, and BP-9 but nothing came up.

I haven't identified a particular part I need, but wanted to get a manual to help me work my way through with a service manual to figure it out.

Thanks again, I'll keep at it.

Ran a 47 for 44 years. Good old baler. Put over 5000 bales thru mine some years. Be sure to get the manual that covers the knotter. It's a small one you can carry in the tool box. I can get the # if you want. Some parts are NLA from CIH, some are VERY spendy. Had to have some parts made by machine shop. Try to line up a parts machine. Don't try to run this thing at full 540 RPM on the PTO. Mine ran best about 450 on the PTO.

Greg, I have a baler parts book from CIH BP-9 think you can still order it. Also have access to parts for your baler.
