I have a Massey Harrris 27, and I was plowing my garden up tonight. We have had a lot of snow and rain. Ground was pretty wet, but the plow was doing good. I got the plow stuck after dark, shovelled some of the ground from the plow shares to move it and did not succeed. It moved a little. I left it to work on in the day, and hopefully the ground will dry some. Do any of you have advice about how to get it out so I don't damage it? It works good, and I want to continue when I get it out.

try pulling it out backward, gently, may have hooked a rock and it pinned the plow down.

Thank you. We had another deluge today, and when I had the dogs out running them, I dug away the dirt from the plow shares again. I will try to pull it out backwards gently as advised.

We had a neighbor, when I was a boy, named Cy Solum. Cy was plowing with his JD 620 when he got stuck. He unhooked the tractor and got it out . Then he went back and picked the plow out of the ground with his bare hands! He rolled it over from the side. Went back and hooked on again and away he went. I will always remember Cy and unsticking that plow by hand! He was a BIG man!

My friend John relyaed a similar story about Bronco Nagurski. Prior to playing football he was plowing a field with a horse. It was a single plow, and when a man asked for directions, Bronco pulled the plow out of the ground and pointed where to go. The man was a football recruiter and he was immediately given a scholarship to play football. He was also a big man. I am going to pull it out backwards with the tractor.
