Does anyone have any information on a flare box manufacturer called "Horn". I have a Dearborn runnning gear with a "Glencoe" hyd lift and a flare box that has "HORN MFG" in large letters on the side. I am going to restore the set as close to original as I can but I would like to find out about the box so I can get the right paint colors.
Thanks!!!
Mike

Horn was located in Ft Dodge after the end of World War II They made a number of different farm item The wagon box was one and the loader. They were acquired by New Idea Farm Equipment which became part of the Avco Corp. New Idea absorbed may small manufactures including the E-Zee Flow Ferilizer Spreader. In 1960s they bought the right for Minn.-Moline Uni-Harvestor. Also distributed a Tandem Disc Made by Davis Co of Kansas and Irrigation pipe. It is now part of Agro.

Somebody else can probably give a better answer. However, I think that Horn was made in Ft. Dodge, IA. They also made loaders. I think they may have been acquired by another company.
