Does anyone know anything about Kewaunee field cultivators? I've seen lots of their disks, running gears, etc,; but never a field cultivator. There is an 18 foot with hyd. wings coming up at a consignment sale in my state next week; just curious as to whether Kewaunee actually built these themselves, or if they were built by another company for them, as the Glencoe Company built for Case and others back in the 60's and 70's.

It is an OK cultivator but the IH 45 is better. and the 45 is now considered obsolete for any high residue applications. Unless it is nearby and you really need a field cultivator, not worth more than scrap price.

Thanks to all....it would seem, then, that shovels, springs, etc. for this cultivator might be available only through an agency such as Valu-Bilt in Des Moines, Iowa, or similar catalogue aftermarket company?

i worked for a dealer that sold kewannee equipment. to best of my knowledge they did build their own field cultivators. we didn't sell many of them as most people were still using disk to ready ground before corn planter or grain drill. most people were still plowing. chisel plows were just starting to get lots of use. i think more use of chisel plows brought on more use of field culitvators. this would have been in mid 70s.

Kewannee was bought by Bush Hog, who then discontinued the tillage equipment. No support from anybody. AGCO has nothing to do with it.
