One side of my bales has loose twine on it. The baler ties it just fine but the twine isn"t tight around the bail like it should be. I know I have a old baler but it has always been tight so I"m sure something is out of adjustment but what is it and how do I get it right? Thanks in advance. Bdeerehunter

Check the twine tension at the twine box. They tend to wear out. I have a 338 that was doing that changed tension holder at twine box fixed problem.

I'm not familiar with the Deere baler but the first thing I'd check is the twine tension. I'd also have a good read through the ops manual.

Probably wouldn't hurt to clean out the chamber and do a thorough inspection. As said before, check the resistor plates. Also check the hay dogs underneath for wear and/or a broken/missing spring. The forks that pull hay off the auger into the chamber may also be worn enough not to be pulling hay all the way across the chamber to form an even bale.

Are the hay resistors worn or rusted away on one side? They hold the bale back so the plunger can pack it better.

I need to proof read better. "sode" should be "side". Jim
