What is the best smaller net wrap baler. I have a neighbor that has trouble handling the bigger net bales and I am looking towards moving away from our 853 NH. What was the smallest net baler made. New Idea?

NEt wrapped bales keep a little better than twine wrapped outdoors. The wrap is easier to remove too. Net or twine- either way it's a buncha crap to clean up.

I have A 848 new holland, 4'x5', Air bag tension, hard core with heavy chains and rubber covered floor roller. Use it for silage bales. Net wrap is an option on this model but the trouble shooting section in the owners manual is a bit longer than War and Peace. Everything else is good though and I have made some 2000 pound plus , wet silage bale with it , no problems.

I have a JD 530 string baler and have thought about upgrading to a net wrap. However, the $250 cost of the net roll and the debris it makes causes me to think twice about converting, especially for the guys who don't remove the wrapper when they feed.

I know they look nice, but my strings do too and they keep just fine.

Not knocking it, just seems more like a sales gimmic than something that is useful for the farmer.

rfd-tv sow the other night was prasing a vemmer baler and i'm wanting to say the name was rebel. may be wrong on that one. it is a small net wrap baler with two ramps that force the bale to roll away from the baler when its dumped. apparently spring loaded ramps to return to position after the bale dumps.

I dont know if the rebel has spring loaded ramps or not. i seen some that have a bar on the back that drops down when the gate is opened and as the gate closes it comes up and pushes the bale away so the gate doesnt close on it by mistake.

I know I can trim back the baler to mke smaller bales. I was thinking more along the ines of those smaller NI and Case IH balers from the early nineties. These wouldn't make a very big bale. i guess I am wondering if these were ever available in net wrap? I am thinking of something that wouldn't take a lot of HP either. I have a G950 Diesel MM that I use on the 853 but would like to be able to use my 670 or even the 302 if I could.

Any 4' wide, variable chamber baler can make "small" bales. Hard to go wrong with NH, JD, or Vermeer. I haven't owned a round baler myself, but I hire a bunch of round baling done every year, and have gotten to watch and evaluate most brands this way. Those 3 brands all give good tight bales if adjusted and run correctly.
