I have a new holland 276 baler with a 540 pto and a tractor with a 1000. I was wandering if anyone knew of a good way, if there was one to switch the baler over from 540 to 1000 rpm. I know that you could get an adapter and run at half speed, and that there is a pto reducer that you can get to put on the tractor. Just was curious if there was a way to switch the baler over somehow, maybe with a gearbox or something. any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kinda tractor do you have? It might be easier to just bone yard hunt and see if you can turn up a dual speed PTO for your machine if it is available.

Nothing to add as optional equipment, or even any modification easily accomplished.
