Could anyone send a parts exploded diagram of the chain transfer on model 10 and 12 balers? the service manual I ordered doesn't cover all of the baler. The drive chain on the inboard side of the plunger housing goes down to a transfer type set of cogs. from there it runs the pickup, and a chain goes up from this transfer also, and runs the knotters and cross feed. the transfer is wobbly on it's shaft. Any input on this will be appreciated. Thanks in Advance; South Ga. Plowboy

I don't have a diagram but I have an MF#10. I was having a problem breaking the chain to the pick up drive. always putting in repair links, always coming off or breaking..the solution? I bought an entire new chain and installed it and problem solved. You indicate "wobbly", is it the chain tightner that you are refering to on the left side of the plunger housing(Facing the baler). If it is the tightner , just about any tractor /machinery dealer will have the right size sprocket/cog to fit your chain and simply replace...I keep looking for MF#10 manual but haven't found one yet.

No it's not any of the take-up idlers. the chains are also in good shape. The main drive chain is powered by the plunger's crankshaft. that's the sprocket with the additional holes so you can time the Cross-feed fingers to plunger stroke. Next, follow that same chain down under the baler and you will see three sprockets that turn as one assembly. (1)The bottom drive chain sprocket, (2)The sprocket that goes almost staight up and powers the knotter drive, and the cross-feed. (3) The sprocket that powers the pick-up assembly. These three sprockets are fastened together. These three sprockets are wobbling on their shaft. I would like to see the assembly in a parts book, or, a shop manual, or maybe hear from someone that has repaired theirs.

I ordered my manual from the dealer several years ago. I know it's a reprint, because on the back cover it says 75 cents!

Thanks; South Ga Plowboy
