I was leafing through some old brochures on this cooooo ldd day (6 deg here in North Branch MI) and I see Lilliston planters used the identical seed hoppers and seed plate drives as the Ford 309 planter. I was thinking this may be a different avenue for parts for my 309. I have been searching and it appears that Allied purchased them, but there is no website for Allied. Bush Hog appears along with Allied and Lilliston. Was Bush Hog purchased by Allied or Lilliston, or is it still an independant? any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Brian

Don't know for sure what became of Lilliston planters but Bigham Brothers in Lubbock TX makes the Lilliston cultivators now.

I have already contacted them, and they only bought the rights to the cultivators fron Bush Hog. They don't know what happened to the planter division either. I have sent an e-mail to Bush Hog asking about the Lilliston planters, and customer service must not be a priority with them, been a week since I sent them an e-mail and no responce yet.

I had a 309. I got some parts thru the New Holland folks, but really expensive. I think if you need plates, you MIGHT be able to cross reference thru Lincoln Ag products. I went out and bought a JD 70 - very similar to a 71, biggest difference is the 70 is heavier, and it doesn't have a tensioner for the chain drive. Parts are much easier to come by.

Nope, Bush Hog bought Lilliston. Allied is now Rhino. Bush Hog bought several companies back in the 80's and early 90's and almost did themselves in. Now there is no brand support. Reference peanut pickers. Any parts come from parts machines. Unless you find the plates or the units, they aren't going to be available as OEM, only aftermarket. Sorry. Someone with a Ford 309, please post pic. Never seen a Ford unit, mostly only see John Deere 70 and 71, a few IHs, and the KMC units. Local dealer sells Cole Multiflex and plenty of Covingtons around. We even have a pair of Cole Super 7 Twin row Planters. Anyway, HTH
