When I was a kid I had a rather elaborate H.O. train set. I had a town, farms, stockyards, tractor dealer, the whole shot. I used some of my 1/64 toy tractors on the set but they were just a tad bigger than HO scale tractors I got from the hobby shop. I may be in the position in a year or so to resurrect this old hobby. There are so many neat 1/64 implements that they never had when I was a kid. What fractional equivalent would HO convert to? I am just curious how far apart HO and 1/64 toys are.

Yes, HO is 1/87 scale. Athearn Trains makes HO scale John Deere tractors in Waterloo Boy, D, B, 50, 4010 and the present, one modern disc, and the 7700 combine with a grain head or corn head. They also make O/Lionel Gauge and N gauge 1/160 JD equipment

GHQ makes a HO Farmall M, 3 bottom plow, IH manure speeder and a M with loader. In JD there's a 4020, a 5 bottom plow, 12A combine, and a 237 picker mounted on a 4020. There is also a Ford 8N with 2 bottom plow and blade.
They also make N guage too.

You can get decals for the Farmall M's also, makes them look really good. I have all the GHQ stuff, it's pretty good, but the front grills are a bit too square.

There is an "S" scale that is almost right on to match the 1/64 scale toys. Problem is it isn't very popular. It falls in between the HO scale and the 0 gauge Lionel.

HO is 1/87 scale. The problem with HO farm equipment is much of it is European prototype, or 1930-1950s American. The Walthers HO catalog has almost everything in it.

They are pushing grain elevators right now. Wooden, concrete, and various sizes of grain bins.

I believe 1/87 is awfully close to HO. There are some farm toys in that scale out there.
