field cultivators

Wondering what field cultivators have enough clearance to go through ripped stalks in the spring. I have an Allis 1400 now and it works great. What would be comparable. I just want a 24 footer to run around with while the big tractor is putting on anhydrous. Any ideas?

13FCW - It's one of the older ones. Two rows of shanks in the front, large gap in the middle, two rows in the back.
The only other advice I can give you is to stay away from cultivators like the IH-45 that only have a set of single wheels on the main frame and nothing on the wings. If you get in something soft you can't pick them up out of the ground. It's nice to have at least four if not six tires working for ya.

I've been really happy with our Wil-Rich 22.5ft. One year we went straight into corn stalks and used it without plugging.

980,or 2210 Deere's. As for other brands, stay away from anything with S type shanks(C-type only), and the more they are strung out(#of rows of shanks) the better trash will pass through. Speed also helps keep trash from bunching, so have plenty of power up front.
