Anyone know where I can get the old type cast iron spool and bearings for an IHC disk? Disk spacing is 7 inches even. Don't know the model number.

Modern Ag Parts is wholesale only, but they gave me a couple of local dealers. Their prices were too high. I found another source, Stevens Ag Parts out of Coushatta,LA,800-333-9143. $49.95 for the "kit" includes ribbed spool, two bearing caps and the bolts. Even with shipping, still cheaper than local with 8.25% tax. Thanks to everyone who replied!!

Modern Ag Parts, Beaumont Tx. 888-404-8908.
They sell parts that will match up to old IH. Spools, bearings, shafts, etc.

Is this for restoration purposes, or just plain old work? I'd think that if you looked in a impliment scrap yard you would get that stuff. If not the spools can be made from plate steel and pipe. I've done that on occassion to get a dics mobile. It works fine but looks a little rough...
I still have some pieces from a disc like that. Probably the same model, but I don't even know what model ours was. I know it had 7 or 7-1/2" spacing and 1-1/8" gang bolts. It would have been from the 60's or 70's. Was a decent disc when we could keep the hitch on it...

Earl Walker out in Intercourse PA sold me scrappers for the disk that I'll bet you have. Is it a pull type? I dont have Earls address or number here at work, but I think it was Hoober implement.

Maybe someone else on here knows how to reach him.

I might have to go measure my disk, according to the parts catalog a 470 is 7.5 inch spacing. Lee

Thanks guys, I'm not sure how old it is, best quess is from the 50's. The shaft is 1 1/8" square. Shipping may be too costly, I'm in Texas.

will: How old is this disk? How large is this disk? Sounds older than a 470 to me. You say cast iron bearings, does it have a 7/8" square arbor? Most IH disks prior to mid 1950 were equipped this way. I fixed one up two years ago and while looking for parts, ran across a guy with some NOS parts. Shipping was a killer for me, as it was a long distance. If your in the right place, I think I can still put you in touch with the guy who has these new parts. Send me an e mail if you wish.
