I am wondering if fertilizer boxes are interchangeable between various JD corn planter models. I would expect they would be within a limited timeframe and model selection.

Any input?

Thanks

Mike

I'm pretty sure the metal boxes are from the 494, 495, and 1240's atleast. I guess you could include the 6 row 694 and 695's as well.

Our planter (495A) has one original box yet and one has been replaced with one outta the junk yard. The one from the junk yard couldn't have seen any fertilizer in it till we got it, there was hardly any rust in it!

Thanks for the responses.

Seed and fertilizer boxes for 2 row 246 3pt & 290 2 row pultype and 490 4 row pultype and 446 4 row 3 point are all interchangable. The boxes for a 494-495 are different than for a 494A-495A-694A-695A-894A-895A-1200 series as they are smaller, with work they can be used tho and the seed boxes from all these fit the 246-290-446-490 as well

Not very familiar with those models, but I would almost think they should work if they're basically the same thing. I know I've seen some older 2 row models that had basically the same single larger fertilizer box like on a 4 row model.

Not completely sure, but I would think it should work.
