I see a lot of discussion about using Ns and later. Seems the general consensious is that they have too much ground speed even in low and a sherman type xmsn would reduce ground speed but also your pto speed which in turn would defeat the usefulness of the tiller. The general hp of the tractor is about 30 and the pto speed I believe 550rpm. Here are a couple ideals that maybe somebody would try: To lower the ground speed and keep the rpm up , put smaller tires on the rear maybe 24s. I think JD has a tractor that looks like this, the name is something like a tenn walker. The second ideal is to use a sherman for the ground speed but regear the tiller to run at the proper tilling speed with a slower pto rpm output.
