Just figured I'd give an update for the guys who were kind enough to give me some advice in my last post.

I ended up getting a really sweet Gehl 2412 for $8650. Very nice machine, that I did not think would go for less than $10,000. I spent a little more than I could really afford, but am really happy I did. Definitely the nicest one on the auction, and I was really excited to get what seems to be a nearly new, center pivot, 12' machine for what a lot of sidepulls bring. I do need to do a little fabricating on the tops of the skidshoes that are notorious for bending up/cracking away on these cutterbars. Any advice here would also be appreciated :D For guys that follow prices, there were a few more discbines on this auction. A very worn (sloppy cutterbar, worn rollers), but nice looking NI 5212 (sidpull) brought $5100. Another identical 5212 with a broken roller, and leaking gearbox brought $950. A very decent JD 935 (sidepull) with good rolls, a tight cutterbar, nice paint, but a bunch of dents/wrinkles went for $7100.

There were also a slough of small square balers that went way too cheap. A few worn but really nice JD 336/337's with throwwers did not manage to bring over $3K. A friend of mine picked up really decent NH 315 for $1350. It still had the original teeth in the pickup, and it was obvious that it couldn't have had much hay put through it. It sat outside it's whole life, which I think scared a lot of people away from it.

Thanks for the update and congratulations on what sounds like a good machine at a good price.
