I checked the 3-point specs on this site but didn't find an answer.

Question: Will a category 2 top link fit into the upper 3-point connection of a category 1. What is the width of the swivel, where the pin goes through?

Thanks

Thanks for all the comebacks! I found a top link cylinder for a Cat II on the net at a fair price and didn't know if it could fit my MF 150. Rocker measures 1 3/4" wide by 1 3/8" deep from the center line of the mounting pin.

don"t know how expensive this would be, but you might find two dissimilar parts that thread together to make up what your looking for. you might even go around some junk yards or tractor dealerships and find some that have been bent up and you can salvage the parts you need.

I have seen toplinks that have a Cat I ball on one threaded end and a Cat II ball on the other. Central Tractor used to sell one. Not sure if their successor or TSC have them or not.

Are you trying to use a Cat II top link on a catergory I tractor or just mount a Cat I implement on a Cat II tractor? If you are mounting a Cat I implement to a Tractor with Cat II 3-point there's no problem. I have two Cat I implements that I use all the time on my Cat II JD 530. Just go to TSC or similar store and purchase Cat II to Cat I bushings and a Cat I top link pin and you're good to go. If you're trying to use a Cat II top link on a Cat I tractor I am not sure if that will work. Probably depends on the tractor. Just try to fit it up and see. Rick

We've also just ground the cat 2 top link narrower till it fit in the cat 1 implement. it worked for us, but it was a cheap one from Fleet Farm.

Depends on the top link. Depends on the tractor. Some tractors aren't made wide enough for some Cat 2 balls, and some are also not DEEP enough to accept a large top link. Best thing to do is try it...
That said, as a general rule a heavy duty Cat II toplink is not going to work on a small, old light duty top link rocker.

Sometimes, it will depend on the tractor make, model and in somecases maybe even the day it was made. Now if you are talking about the implement end of the top link, ALL BETS ARE OFF!

'Depends' Some are wider. Most top links have extra room so it works. There is a sleeve to get rid of the slop.

I've done that- just use a bushing in the hole of the top link. Width of the swivel/ball is the same.
