We use regular disc harrows for that. However, I had a neighbor with one of the letter series JD tractors (A or B) that had a 2 disc oneway just as this and he used it all the time. Was a good match for the low hp JD which was probably pretty close to your A.

You can go to Tractor Data .com and look up the HP comparison between IH and JD A's

The reason we used them here is because they are rolling discs and we are in heavy clay where moldboards just gum up.

Is yours similar to this one? A true disk plow has large disk on each shank and bearing but a disk tiller or oneway has disk on a common gang shaft like a disk harrow. IHC did call what most of us call them disk plow harrows what most of us called disk tiller oneways. Found this one on implement photos section by entering in search box farmall disk plow and find others by IH disk plow.

I have many hours setting in front of a plow just like that A 151, also an HM 150 3 disc, and I still have a 2 point 3 disc which we used on a Utility 330. Thay have an adjustable scraper on each disc which is used to adjust how the dirt is thrown so it will level. They will not plow worth a crap with out the scrapers.
