I guess I just like a soft ride, or maybe on some bouncing around just produces an uneven crop, but I run my implements somewhat low. I look at the sidewall of the tire and the roundness of the area contacting the ground. I try to get all the tire tread area on the ground without pooching the sidewall. Never had tire nor axle problems.

NL: I wouldn't go any higher then the implement tire rating hayray has given you. I remember breaking a baler axle in the 1970s. NH claimed it was caused by tires being too hard. I've also heard the same from other users and with other manufacturers. These buggies don't have springs other than that air.

Sounds like NH was tyring to shift the blame of a faulty axle on anything else they could, what a joke. It is amazing the things manuafactures come up with when their product is defectives.

hayray: I was never convinced to be a true believer. Personally I never thought most implements had heavy enough axles. I guess corperate test farms don't have bumps. Then, I don't suppose they had to move from field to field.

I had a 22' disk wings up come down on me one day, on a paved highway at full throttle in road gear. Little ripple in the pavement. Hydraulic ram broke on the implement cylinder. Guy who sold me the disk, said I wasn't using a heavy enough implement cylinder. I advised him I knew that, and furthermore it was the cylinder he recomended for the disk when new. I told him I didn't see any broken disk blades, however was he prepared to replace any that broke in next 30 days. "NO". I said fine, I best go back to using one of my IH 4" cylinders, being what I would have used, had it not been for you advice. the disk was new when this happened, and yes I did replace every blade on the main frame long before they wore out. I was just thankful I had the spare cylinder and was able to get out of there before the road dept. figured out which farmer chewed up the asphalt.

You would have to go by the rating on the tire wall. Being used the tires might not even be original. If if has non-highway implement tires they usually all inflate to 32 p.s.i.
