Ted, I have a model 8 baler it was old, but it works great, before that I had a 116 wire tie that also works good, the reason I quit using it was the price of wire, if you have not priced it yet you may want to do so.

Ted,Iran a#10 for many years and never had a problem with it.As for condition check the knives for wear and sharpness and check all of your wire guides, hooks and spindles for grooves cut in by th wire.If any are grooved re place them. Also use a good quality baling wire. Doug

Ted, The MF 10 baler was a wonderful baler but
very old so condition is more important. If it
has been outdoors I would be sceptical. The
plunger slides are prone to rust build up from
behind and lock the plunger. Also be sure pickup
is ok on outer end. If there is a wider gap
between the outer two pickup bands than the other
ones there is a good chance that the dog leg is
sprung pulling the cam bearings out of the cam
driving the pickup. May need straighten and cam
replacement. When new a quiet, reliable, exc. tying
baler in the twine and not as aquainted with wire
but never heard of any problems. Chuck
