Aluminum sticking to nylon slides!

I am working on an old straw chopper. The tub for the bales has an aluminum ring on the bottom, that carries the belt that spins the tub. The ring sits in four nylon guides that keep the whole affair on track. I have gotten it to loosen up by spraying on the WD -40, but once that works its way through, everything starts to stick up . Don't want to put on anything that is going to collect dust and clog it up. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Kent in NB.

Search google for "powdered graphite lubricant". There are many brands available at most hardware and hobby stores. We used to use this to lubricate the wheels/axles on the kids pinewood derby cars. It works, won't collect dust and lasts longer than liquids. See attached link.

When we drill Aluminum we use Pam cooking spray.

It keeps the filings from sticking to the bit.

Might work for this also.

Spray silicone won't attract dirt and is slick and dry, but I don't know if it'll last much longer than WD.Jim
