Plow beams

Cleaning up around the farm we found some old JD plow beams the stamp on top reads 364 and 365 but it is hard to read, any ideas what they belong too? should they go to the scrap

RayP, you have to start writing this stuff down,:). Your 4B has beam numbers 583 and 623. I had to look hard to find 364 and 365, they are listed as being the long and short beams for a double beam engine gang plow. It looks like they were also used on the Export engine gang plow but all were started before 1914 and discontinued July 1926! Sounds like some old stuff. "Gang" in this instance just means more than one bottom and "engine" means not for horses.

Thanks to Bob and Ray for the info , the beams are pretty well beat up, looks as if they have a limited value, anyway thanks for everyones help.

Some folks would buy them to mount on a 3ph, used to pull rocks out of the ground.

try to sell them first. thats why implements and tractors are getting harder to find because all of them have been junked out and melted down.

If I remember right, that's the numbers on the Deere 4B hanging in out in our pole barn. Hung it in the trusses to get it out of the way, don't particularly want to climb up there and check. Maybe someone else can confirm this for you.

I Sure would like to know what they fit before I try and advertise them or send them to the scrap yard, I bet they were used to pull rocks out as we do seem to grow them quite easily around here
