IH sickle bar mower ID

Does anyone know the model number of a rear mounted, PTO/ v-belt driven, pitman type mower that mounted on an H or M after the drawbar was removed? It mounted to the same axle brackets as the drawbar, and was fully mounted (no tailwheel).
Also, could anyone source an owner's manual for it, and or tell me how well they worked? Thanks in advance, Karl.

Model HM-16. But it was pitman driven. Used a V belt to get power from shaft to pitman rod.

That sounds like the one. It is pitman driven with a short v-belt from the PTO shaft to the Flywheel/ crank. Do you know how well they work?

One of the very best pitman mowers ever built. Will mow in any gear you have except road gear if it is right with the world. There is a hydraulic lift that attaches to tractor, and has a long rod going back to mower to lift the bar with. Search the archives here. Someone while back rigged up a nice cylinder lift on one of those mowers. Pics of here on YT.

Just fine - if the knives are sharp, the ledger plates are in good condition, and all other adjustments are within range.

Some one on here put changed the chain-binder adjustment to a hydraulic adjustment (on the left side, ahead of the bearing box). That looked like a clean, handy modification.

I don't have the full set of swath bars for mine - that would help.

The single biggest problem I've had is no way to pick up the sickle bar to turn around on my chopped-up triangle-shaped fields. Keep your RPM's up and try 2nd gear to mow.

Thanks, guys, I have an Oliver 81 and a John Deere 38, and they are both a beast to hook and unhook. I have an H I don't use much, so this sounds like the ticket. I think I was changing ledger plates when i was still in diapers, so i believe I can get this one working again.
