I just purchased a JI Case running gear site unseen, so I don't have any of the numbers off of it, does anyone know if these were good straight pulling running gears? I know it depends on the amount of wear, however I was wondering in general if they were a good gear. This one has a factory bed and hoist under it I'm very excited on getting it home any info would be much appreciated thanks.... Tim

I have a running gear I broke the cast hub and the rim. It is a model 650 but cannot read anything else. Any ideas what it is or where to begin to get any parts

I had two 10 ton Case Gears with large Wisconsin Self Unloading Forage Boxes on them and they were excellent . I used them for Chopping Haylage,Dry Hay, Straw and Corn Silage and pulled them behind a Fox Chopper with 190 AC power.

I've owned several older Case gears of a couple of models. I do not remember the model numbers. They are excellent gears.

Cobey advertized that their wagon could be pulled at 60 miles per hour. Don't recall any other manufacturer doing that.

Better Bilt made some excellent gears. I pull them up to 65 MPH empty on a regular basis. We've got one Cobey on the farm, but we've only had it for a few years and it's under a gravity box we only use 1 or 2 times/year. Needs to get the steering tightened up to really pull straight.

I have gears of all colors and the best trailing is New Holland. second best is Case. I have gone through front ends of all so all are tight.

Case running gears of the 1940s and early 1950s were very good, tracked nice and straight, and were trouble free. As I recall the wheels were Case orange and the rest of it a dark shade of green. I know of an excellent Case running gear in central Iowa, but I don"t think it"s for sale.

Case running gear colors: I had it backwards on previous post. Green for wheels, orange for frame, etc.

Case running gears were the best pulling ones we ever owned. I would tke a case over any other brand. Of course this was 30 years ago so I am sure there are better ones out there now. But for an older gear they were the best.
