Is there any good tractor and impliment junk yards close to McKinney Texas? Don't know where to go since Paysinger closed up. I need a part for a JD 851 Side delivery rake. Thanks

I like to farm with 40 year old worn out stuff. Bet you can't guess why. Grin.

Seriously, I have had great luck with the Deere house on 380 having or being able to get parts for old stuff at an unbelieveable modest price.

The old guy who works the West end of the counter knows all the old stuff.

I have also shopped Broke F in Commerce. Call first.

Thanks. I have off on Friday. I was gonna take a ride over to broke F. I got it back on its wheels last weekend and got the gearbox all cleaned and replaced one bearing...I even got the wheels shimmed so good, they are straight up and down...I think this one is gonna make it. Asssuming it works as should, I will take the time to strip it and paint it...Wow, I'm actually getting something ready for spring in the middle over winter...thats a new one for me...

Me too. I fixed a lot of stuff last winter and I can't believe I didn't tear it all up this season. So now I have it all fixed and rather than being out in the shop freezing my !@@#$ off, I'm in here in the house and talking to you. Grin.

There is a pretty good size Tractor salvage yard up in Gainesville on Hwy 82 just on the east side of town. It is on the north side of the road. It think it is just called "Tractor Salvage". I havent been there in a couple of years but the old guy that ran the place has about everything on the lot in his head. Try salvage yard listings at epartdirect.com or adeptr.com (parts then state). I had some 850 series parts but only used guide rods and drive axle left now. Find Wellington tractor parts on that listing. Also try some out in NM & AZ as JD parts rakes we use to buy on auctions came from those areas.

Dave,

My Dad has a 4 bar JD 350 parts rake that is the same reel as your 851. It has the part you need on it. Give him a call at 254-527-3554 if interested. Rake is located in Jarrell Tex.

Its the "drive wheel". Its the wheel that the 4 bars attach to on the left side. It has a pin that goes through a pillow block and has the PTO shat on the other side. My bearings were bad and when I tried to press that pin, I snapped the wheel (cast iron). If you need a pic, I can email it.
