The M&W balers were all made in Gibson City, IL. M&W did not produce any balers last year, 07. At one time M&W made some Krone models for their USA market. The M&W baler is solid and will last a lifetime. They are soft center, fixed chamber balers. In dry hay these balers are not as popular as variable chamber balers.

I like mine. In my opinion they are a very reliable baler. I will add that the dealer I go to has gone to Krone, since M&W has changed hands they do not give the support that they used to give. I am told the same thing by other farmers and custom operators who have used M&W for years on their new balers they are going to Krone. The problems I have had with storing hay outside was operator error(my fault) and not the baler.

I've seen several of them around here as well. They were real popular here for a very short period of time. Seemed to give the NH chain balers a real run for their money in the mid to late 80's. Particulalry when NH came out with their last generatoion of chain balers at appreciably highter cost. I think the biggest drawback to them was on less than a full bale. While Im not real sure how they operate what I have heard is that they are real soft centered with a hard outside. I've not seen a new one sold here in ages. Seems to be almost all new JD and NH, with a few Vermeer balers, mostly JD's though.
