I was wondering if a pto run spreader can effectivly distribute rock salt or a sand mix to deice a parking lot? Would the coverage be to heavy or light? If possible what would the coverage area be per load and how wide would a single path be?

Single pass 20 to 30 feet.

May have to make more than one pass to get enough on. Or shift to a lower gear.
