I thought that I would post this on here to see if anybody could ID the brand of running gear that is under the gravity bed. These were old annhydrous wagon gears that had been converted to propane tanks. When IL decided that it was illegal to have propane tanks on wheels (i.e. old NH# gears and tanks) I got lucky and got some nice gears. Il has even went a step farther just recently and it is now illegal to even have a NH3 tank converted for propane. A bit dumb in my opinion as the safety ratings are higher on NH3 tanks vs. Propane (7:1 vs. 6:1) but no arguing with them I guess. Anyway I would like to figure out what brand they are. Oh, and does anyone know what in the world the piece of pipe welded/sticking off the front of the frame beside the tounge was for both of my gears had them as well as others I have seen like this.
Thanks

That is a DMI running gear that was used under NH3 tanks. I have one under a 850 gallon DMI fertilizer tank I use to haul water. I believe at one time these wagons were liscensed and they sometimes kept the registration papers in the tube on the front axle. Judging from your name on here it probably came from Mason County Service Co/Sunrise Ag? You can get parts for the gears at Jenner Sales in Harristown 800-637-1692. I used to work there.

Yes these trailers were liscened at one time. I guess that does make sense with the papers. The color also fits DMI colors. Actually I got these from Wabash Valley Service Company in Southern Illinois where I work.
Thanks for the info.

Doesn't look anything like my Electric Wheel. Here is a picture of the front of mine. The HD may have been different.

They made more styles than that one. We've got an Oliver made by Electric and another Electric gear, both with a solid front end where only the tires steer, not the whole front axel.

Wish I had a better picture, but this is the Oliver gear under a load of hay. third party image

Since they are blue, and resemble my KilBros gears, that is my guess. I have an old 10 ton Electric and the tie rods are in front on it. Newer ones may be different.
