I have a friend looking for aftermarket hammers for a 400 John Deere grinder/mixer. I need to know where to buy them.

Check with Arts Way. Under history section of Arts Way, it says they do OEM work for Case/New Holland, John Deere, and H&S.

deere does not support the grinder/mixers anymore. OEM hammers may no longer be available, and to my knowledge, there are no aftermarket hammers.

Has he tried turning the hammers? I am sure they can be reversed. Seems like there is a hole in the housing and you line up each row, then pull the rod out that holds them. Then just turn them around so the sharp corner is used. There are 4 corners, but I dont remember turning them that many times. I know we replaced them once with new ones from the dealer.

Good luck,, Gene

The only aftermarket may be your local weld/machine shop.

Have them use hardened steel and punch them out.

We made them at the shop I worked at.
