Are there good or bad points to the type of teeth on a 258 rake, rubber mounted or the double spring steel?

The rubber teeth cost more, and are subject to dry rot. As far as steel teeth, I'e used the yellow aftermarket and the new grey OEM ones. The genuine NH teeth are way better. I dont know what they put in the steel but they resist bending and breaking a lot better than the after market knock offs for only dime or so more.

I was using anywhere from 30-50 teeth a year over 3 rakes (lots of rocks and such some places I bale hay). With going to the genuine NH teeth my consumption is down to under 20 a year.

I like the spring teeth better. Once the rubber gets some age on them they can fall right off.

Never had one with rubber but figured that rubber would dry rot and would start loosing those teeth in the field.

Had one with steel for 30 years and never lost one. Bent afew but never lost one.
