Hel with New Holland 850 baler door

For you guys that still run the old chain balers I have a question. This past fall I was baling and had about a full roll and one of the steel cables on the side (the ones that are hooked to the long spring) broke. I replaced the cable, but now when the door shuts I can't get the latch to fit on that side of the baler. I am referring to the latch (one one each side near the top front)that shuts and then begans to move open as the baler fills up. It doesn't appear that the latch, or anything in that area, is bent and I can pry it on with a pry bar. Is it possible that the door could be slightly bent even though it doesn't appear to be. The baler is making very loose bales now ( not that it was making them that tight before). Any thoughts or recommendations are appreciated.

i run a 851...if the door closes against frame it sounds like it mite just be the latch binding or maybe the tension needs adjusting...new cable is probally a tad shorter than old cable on other side.

Well, since the NH chainer I had was an 847, not an 850 I hesitated to answer, but I suggest you look at the top hinges and see if one or both are worn a lot or worn unevenly. I had trouble there one time.
