Looking at IH 1PR and a NI 310. I will be picking about 5 to 8 acre of corn next season, but would like to purchase one now to work it over so I'll be ready. The IH is selling for $325.00 the NI they want $675.00 for it. Are part still availible for either?
Any thing that I should be looking at as far as problems? How do these machines compare?

Depends where you are, price is at least 2x what it would be around 'here' for these older models.

Agco has some parts for the NI, tho mostly you will be welding things up.....

Andy I bought a new idea with parts picker for $125.00. All mine needed was grease it and go.

If they are in comparible condition, go for the 1-PR even if it costs an extra grand!

I have a 1PR and I like it better than the NI323 I have although thats a good picker also. Don't know anything about NI310 model. Seems like the price is high - would be in my area. I paid $125 for mine and it was in pretty good shape overall. I don't think parts are available for the IH picker but I'm sure there are lots of parts in junk yards. I would certainly look for things like wear and rusted out metal as part of the decision. IH pickers will rust out faster if they have to be left outside. Some of the NI pickers had huge tires which is a big help if your in the mud.
