i have two ford tractors, a 8n hybrid and a 1955 ford 640. i have been using the 8n since june to do shredding for some deer hunters, it has a 5 ft. shredder. the 640 i just purchased and it came with a 5 ft shredder, i was thinking about getting a 6 ft. shredder to use with it. the 8n does okay with the 5 ft. especially after the first time around. i now keep everything pretty short. i would not consider using a 6 ft. on it. i am pretty well convinced that the 640 should handle the 6 ft. shredder with no problems. any advice, opinions, and experiences are welcome. thanks for all info.

what horse power is the 640? how thick is the stuff your bush hogging down? how low are you cutting it? with any bush hog you can always move a little bit to one side when your in thick cutting and then move back in to cut a wider strip where you can. alot of veriables here.
