I have a plow I need help identifying and not knowing anything about them or what the parts are called makes it very hard for me.
The numbers I have found are following.
on all three beams 451, hub on right wheel 251, inside wheel hub 452, right center bearing 251, rear disc mount spindle G516-A and G515-A, left wheel D636-A, brake arm mount D437-A, upper bracket disc mount D496-A other numbers I have found but dont know what to name the peices found on are G670-A, G67?-A, B663-A, D793-A,
any help would be greatly appreciated. Not being a farmer or haveing a farm background is making this very diffucult for me.
My goal is to Identify the plow modle and year and then get a tractor it would have been matched with, preferably of the same year
Thanks again Keith

macc,

We can help you better if you can provide a picture(s). One point of confusion, for me, if it is a moldboard(turning) plow each beam would have a different number as they would be different lengths. 451 is one of the beams (3rd beam) for a JD 10 inch No. 6 Pony Engine Gang plow (1916-1917). Some the other numbers you gave match this plow also but others don't so I don't have a good answer for you. Kim

Keith, You can post a picture in the Implement Photos section of this site and also link it to this message thread. I've never done either so I can't help with those "how to" instruction. You can also email the picture directly to me at [email protected]. I've got a couple of friends who are good at JD plow identification. Between us, we should be able to figure it out.
