This is just my experience---I bought a 6500(9 shank) a couple of years ago. It was really sharp and had excellent steel. I used it on about 150 acres and hated every minute of it. I had problems with it plugging both in wheat stubble and corn stalks. It even plugged in about 3 acres of sweet corn stalks I had. Mine had hyd. disc control and I tried it in every position. I also checked with a tape measure the shank location and spacing against what the book said. I owned it less than a year, sold it and bought a Deere 714 and never regretted it.
