Good morning, I looking to add a 3pt backhoe to my 30 HP tractor. Does anyone recommend one & why. This is not for heavy or daily use. just would find one handy around our 30 acres.

Thanks

Very pleased with Bradco. I welded two 3 pt pins to the roll bar and turned the 3 point hookup into a 5 point. Bottom of the extra top links were bolted thru extra holes in the lower part of the hoe attachment, top slides over the welded on pins and when you spread out the two added top links you'll get rid of the flex you'll have with 3 point only.

Also, for about $50 added a steel plate kit made by the tractor manufacturer which reinforced the normal top link attachment point by tieing it into more parts of the rear housing.

Last time the hoe was attached it took 15 minutes with two people. This was outside on pretty level sand/dirt. If it was on concrete and a dolly, etc. I think it could be done in less than 10. Setting it up and mounting it the first time took HOURS.

if you will look around you can find a good used back hoe and front end loader on a tractor that you"ll really ap[preciate having around all the time. i bought an old ford one for 6,000 i put some money into it a couple of times, but its been worth it to have around. yoou"ll be surprised at how much work you can do just for neighbors to have it pay for itself. i don"t charge much for the use of mine. its old and slow so we fit and i don"t feel like charging my neighbors any 75.00 an hour for me being slow and taking it ease. i"ve just charged 25 an hour for years and still came out ok, but the pleasure of having one around will surprise you. i"ve dug up a bunch of trees with mine, cleaned up a bunch of fence rows, loading junk to haul off to the scrap yard, use it for my hired help to stand in to cut limbs off or fix the roofing around the bottom edge of a house or barn. you want regret having one around.

I used a Long 1099 on my MF-135 successfully. Had to run a chain under the tractor hitch to hold the backhoe down.
