All we spread on our hay and corn fields is chicken manure. Have to use the Knight side slinger manure spreaders, and they work great. The big dual axle one will hold 15 ton or so, and it goes on pretty quick. 4 or 5 ton to the acre makes the grass and corn grow like crazy.

I have spread with a New Holand spreader. it works perrty good. have to drive fast I also spread with a H&S, and New Idea neither worked very good. Don't spread any wider than the spreader. I would like to try a Knight slinger side discharge. I spread litter out of my broiler barn. Good luck.
