Ford 501 Sickle Bar transport rod

Does anyone out there have the length of a Ford 501 mower transport rod? I recently bought a 501 mower, but the bar wasn"t included...I went to order it from the local New Holland dealer and its 91 bucks! Basically, I want to have someone local bend and drill a piece of metal to fit for me..and of course I can go get a rough measurement off my mower..but if someone has the exact part, it would be great to know the exact length of the original.
Just to clarify, its the rod that holds the cutter bar up when you"re transporting the mower...should have a hook at one end, and a hole for a cotter pin on the other. Thanks!

I've had two 501's. Ran one for years til the pitman drive went kaput. Had a 7' bar on it. Found another one about a year later with a 6' bar. The transport bars were two different lengths. The 6'cutter bar had a longer transport bar than the 7' cutter bar did. Never realized it until I changed the cutter bars putting the 7'bar on the newer frame.

Sorry, I am a day late with the measurement. My transport rod is 42 inches long, including the funny shaped hook for the sickle bar. The rod is 5/8 inch thick. The bend for the 90% hook on the frame part is 2& 3/8 inches. The odd shaped piece for the bar is attached at about a 30% angle and is 1&3/4 inches across. The 30% angle part has a rectangular notch 7/8 inch wide to hook through the bar. I wish I could post a picture of the end piece, but I don't have the technology or knowlege.

They have a bit of a squarish hook at one end, to lock into the square hole on the sickle bar & not fall out. Would you need a pic of that? Got no camera here at the farm today, but if I get whacked a time or 2 I might remember to go find my rod & get you the info.

Hi, I don"t have the 3 pt mower but I can give you a guys name who does. I shipped him a new swath board for his so I know he has one .
