am thinking about buying a 12' hesston hydra swing. 1014.

What HP would be the min. for this implement?

Would a JD 2120 or a MF90 work ?

We've got the slightly newer 1014+2 (twin sickle version) and we run it with our Massey 285 (80 HP) It's a 14' model so it would be a little harder to run than a 12' model, but I think 75 is the lowest I'd want to go on HP. They may be able to be run on less, but it'll make our 285 grunt in just about any field.

Sometimes I'll just run it on our Oliver 1855- 105 PTO HP.

The main draw of power is the small crimper. I took it out this year and used it to swath oats, and it ran on the 285 without any grunting. Put it back on and get into some thicker hay, and it grunts again. Thinner stuff isn't bad at all.

The manual for my 1014 states "50+ hp recommended"

I have run it with a John Deere 4010 and 2755. Both machines were more than adequate.
