I would like to know if there is a way to put rubber tires on my set of plows. Right now they are wire spoked rims with metal wheels. Thank you for any information.

Dave, If your plow is really a model 813 it is a mounted(3 point hitch) plow and you probably don't need rubber tires. If you are refering to the number stamped into the beam, look closer it is probably a 613 which is just the beam number but means it is a two bottom number 52 plow. This very likely could have steel wheels. An optional rubber tire wheel was available but you may have trouble finding a good set. The option WHICH I DON'T ENCOURAGE is to cut off the spokes and weld on a rim that will take a tire that is readily available. Before you do that, I have seen guys fit tube liners from truck tires tightly over the steel wheel which might help if your hard surface travel is minimal. Let me know if I misunderstood the question. hope this helps. Bob

good advice about trying to put rubber treads on the steel tires. Dave, if you plan on pulling it on road(s) then i understand why you want pneumatic tires on a plow....but if you are using for field work only...then why would you WANT pneumatic tires over steel tires?? There's lots of more modern plows around for $50 - $500. I believe we need to give this old equipment a break. Repair it (properly), Yes. Use it in the field as intended, Yes. Cut'n weld, paint pink & put flower pot on, modify to modern config, No. Give that 'ole boy a break. and that's my opinion worth $.02
