Ok let me tell ya what Ive got going on here I bought a engine driven 14t with the intentions of changing it to pto. Well I wound up buying a 214ws to get the driveline off of. Well the 214 has one of the wire needles broken but other than that it is a lot better baler than the 14t. Now I am trying to decide if I should just swap the drive line or change the knotters and needles over to the 214. I have an extra set of needles that came with the 14t.I have almost all the parts but it looks like the part the knotters mount to is a little different and the top shaft in the knotters is different because of the difference in the needle brake. I have plenty of time to do the swap but I am wondering if this would be worth doing. Im gonna bale about 1000 bales a year and this 214 is in such good shape I just believe if I could swap out those knotters this baler would last me a long time. Thanks for your help and if you happen to have any of the parts I need email me and maybe we can work something out. Thanks.

The 214 is just a higher capacity 14. If you can get a new needle for the wire baler, that would be the way to go.

Fix the wire baler! They are about 10 times more reliable on wire.

I think you are on track. I used to think that balers were a complicated piece of machinery, but they really aren't. My experience is primarily with NH balers, but I think they are all pretty much the same. What I have found is that the knotter assemblies through several different years of updates , don't really change.
