Can anyone tell me where the "No. 953" decal is positioned on the wagon? I bought the decals from Travis Jorde but he doesn't know where that particular one is located. Thanks in advance for your replies.

I wish to thank everyone who responded.

RSCO, the wagon I am restoring has the 2 decals you remember on the braces, one on the left front and one on the right rear but they were a decal of the 4 legged deer. Centered on the back axle was the "John Deere" decal. I am looking for the position of the "No. 953" decal.

Thanks

My 963 wagon had the 4 legged deer between the number and the reach on the right brace. They moved that stuff around over the years. I was looking at an origonal 953 last summer and it even had john deere acrossed the front axel as well as the rear.

As somone else said it goes on the right hand A-frame member between the axel and the reach. A little front of center of that piece.

This is sort of a guess, but I think they were centered on the braces that angle back from the center pole to the rear axle. As I recall, there were 2 decals, one on either side. Still since my memory is a bit fuzzy, if someone else is more certain, go with their input.

That is my recolection of location also. In my opinion, the 953 and 963 were perhaps the best wagons of their time. They were frequently loaded far beyone their rated capacity. We still have several (including 2 that were purchased new by my father) that we use for small loads.

I wish I could help you, but all my scans of sales brocures on 943, 953 and 963 wagons don't show a decal placement.

Good luck, as Travis is one of the best. If he doesn' know, I don't know who does.

Stan
