grind corn cobs?

Anything out there that will grind up corn cobs? PTO or belt operated? I tried a small mulcher/chipper but the cobs just bounced around inside. Need something that will grind em up.

Gotta remember that it takes longer for cobs to break down in the soil than does other material.

i was curious about what you were going to use them for. several years ago we had a wet summer and later that fall people started losing their horses. they were all feeding corn on the cob and the wet year had caused a particular disease in the little end of the cobbs. the horses were eating this little end and dying from eating it. might want to watch out for what your going to use it for.

A neighbor raises a great deal of popcorn each year and gives me the cobs. I plan to grind them up an mix them in my raised beds.

I grind cobs all the time to use as bedding. Any hammer mill will grind them.

Sounds like you need to find a hammer mill. The size of the screen determines how small it grinds.
