I bought some stuff from an old farm site this summer, and finally have time to look at it.
The JD plow is a two bottom with the #583 on the right beam and #623 on the left beam. It is a ground lift on steel. Also got two IHC 1 bottom plows. One has #PO23440 on beam the other PO14603. Would like to know model and years if possible. Also got a potato planter (horse drawn)that has the same steel wheels as the JD plow. I don't know much about it so any help would be great. thanks

Kevin: I had to come back to forum to get the numbers and my first reaction was Little Wonder No.3, however the part numbers don't match. Do these plows have tail wheel with a lift linkage from tail wheel to the left front wheel rockshaft. That would indicate Little Genius No.8 and I don't have part numbers for the No.8.

Come back, let me know the linkage and wheel arangement.

One plow has a tail wheel and has wider steel wheels. I'm not sure where the linkage hooks to. The other has narrower steel and has no rear wheel. It has a slide on it possibly farm built.
thanks

Kevin: Could you send me a photo. IH built the Little Genius from 1928 until 1960 and Little Wonder from 1928 to around 1942. The may have changed those beams over the years, thus it may be hard to nail down using part numbers alone.

Kevin: Are the IH plows mounted or trailer type? I have two dealer parts manuals here covering close to 65 different plows manufactured by IH between 1930 and 1975. I could probably find it without, however knowing whether it's mounted or trailer will speed up the process. Bear in those two books don't cover all the plows IH built in that time frame.

The JD plow is one of the #4 series, likely the 4B. Need lots of details to narrow down year of mfg. Made from 1935-1949.

Is it worth keeping?, or is there lots of them around. I only collected tractors until about a year or so ago.Mostly red and my Rumley.
